Where Have I Been? | AbiSays

Hello everyone,

Its been a while! A month in fact… Oops

I have been so so busy the past month with coursework for college but I have finally been signed off meaning I have so much more time to be able to dedicate towards not only my blog, but to my YouTube channel too. I am really looking forward to getting back into blogging and vlogging especially over the next month as I embark on a journey to Australia with my family.

Everything has been so very mish mash that its even been hard for me to keep up with myself but I am hoping to delve back into my two platforms as soon as possible. If you don’t follow me over on my YouTube channel, I’d really appreciate if you guys subscribed. You can click here to find it and see the mayhem which I call my life!

I have been really inspired by so many YouTubers recently, especially vloggers such as Zoe, Molly, and Ebony and have just been given that motivation I needed to get back into the swing of things.

I really hope to see you over here on my blog but also on my channel too. There will be vlogs hopefully going up all through July so i am very excited for the next month!

I do apologise for not being able to come over here and talk to you guys for such a long time but I really appreciate the patience! (There are now 94 of you, which I think is absolutely insane!)

Until next time,

Products I Have Tried That Haven’t Worked For Me | Blogmas Day 20

Hello everyone welcome back,

Today I have a short post about products I have purchased which really haven’t worked well for me. I have one product for everything so we’ll start with face primers.

The first product is the Maybelline Baby Pore Eraser Primer. This product was £7.99 from Superdrug (Click here) and this primer for me is so greasy and really doesn’t contribute to keeping your makeup on all day because it genuinely makes my makeup slide off my face. After applying the primer my face feels greasy and really doesn’t feel nice at all. I wouldn’t recommend this primer as it was so hyped about on Youtube but it really isn’t worth the hype for me.

The second product is the Rimmel BB Cream. (Click here) This was £6.99 from Superdrug. My first point is that the colour range is awful and really doesn’t offer much for the skin. I know BB creams are supposed to be light coverage for your face, but the shade I got (I can’t remember what it was because I threw it out because it just didn’t work) was really bad. At first, the colour matched me but soon after it began to turn more and more orange and just didn’t suit my skin at all. The formula began to turn quite watery and I just hated the product even more. It might just have been mine, but I really disliked this product.

The next product is the MUA Hide & Conceal Concealer. This was £1 and it was the stick formulation. I didn’t like this because stick concealers anyway for me are really cakey and everything cakes up on my skin and this is something I really don’t like because it looks like I’m really crap at makeup when in all honesty I don’t think I’m that bad at it! (Loads of people are better than me obviously). For £1 I really don’t think its worth getting this product.

Fortunately, I haven’t found a blush, bronzer or highlight that hasn’t worked for me but I have found an eyebrow product I don’t like which is the Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil which is generally quite chalky and the pencil is either too chunky or too thin. I bought mine in the shade 004 Black / Brown because it was the closest colour to my hair colour. Click here to find it. Some people might like it but I just don’t. the only good thing about this product is the price because they’re only £2.99 on the Superdrug site.

Those are all the products I have to talk about today. Let me know some products you have tried which haven’t worked out for you.
Thank you very much for reading and we have hit 80 followers so thank you all for following, reading and liking and commenting!

Till next time,

An Interview With Lush Leah! | Blogmas Day 10

Hello everyone welcome back!

Today I had the pleasure to interview Leah from the YouTube channel lush leah and Instagram account lush_leah.x which you can go to by clicking on the links!

This is a different sort of post but I really hope you enjoy!

Talk me (and my readers) through your YouTube career. How did lush leah begin?

Leah – Well I started with Instagram about 4 years ago! I realised I was doing pretty well with it and since videos were only 15 seconds, I felt that YouTube was the perfect way to express my opinions and my love for makeup in more detail! It was definitely one of the best decisions I’ve made with this whole social media portion of my life, I enjoy it so much!

That’s a really good idea! I probably would have done the same! Did you find your audience built gradually or did you find yourself with quite a few subscribers quite quickly?

I did gain really quickly to begin with, however since I’ve started, its been more gradual. After almost 2 years, I’m 38,700!!

That’s an incredible amount of subscribers. Did you find it was overwhelming to have such a fast following?

Yeah of course! I didn’t expect that outcome at all. If you watch my first video, I literally said I’d love to gain 200 subs(cribers) by June, which was 4 months from there I was on like 2,000!

Its insane how fast accounts grow on YouTube now and within different audiences, there’s a lot of controversy of how youtubers are in front of the camera versus how they are in real life. Do you think audiences are sometimes a bit too judgemental on a person who takes the time to sit in front of the camera?

Yeah certainly! Obviously, everyone is slightly different on camera but it’s good to stay as true to who you really are on camera, which sounds really cheesy but that’s what people like! But, you don’t know everything about the youtuber, so its unfair to judge them from their videos.

I definitely agree. Through your different social media, you have over 130,000 followers from your channel, Instagram and Snapchat and you manage to engage with them so well. Do you ever find yourself struggling to cope with this amount of people to entertain and keep your statistics maintained?

I feel like you have to balance what you want to post and what your audience wants to see. Obviously you have to keep the audience entertained – which is really hard when there’s so many people to please! But I do try to interact with everyone and get suggestions.

I love how interactive you are over Snapchat too, I loved your makeup spam this morning! 🙂 And finally… What are YouTube events like? Have you ever been to events such as Summer In The City and do you go plan to go to many more throughout the UK?

Awh thank you, I try to do them as often as possible! I’ve been to beautycon, a L’Oreal Hair event and a Lush event! They’re all so fun to meet with youtubers and get to see exciting new products! ! I’m hoping to go to Summer In The City and many others next year!

My Winter Essentials 2016

Hello everyone,

Over the past few days the weather has become ridiculously cold all of a sudden here in the UK. There are people like me who are picky with the weather when it comes to the temperature. For example – if its too cold, it annoys me and makes me grumpy and I don’t love it. I like it to be semi cold. Not really really cold, but; somewhere in the 15s. Yes. 15 degrees.

Anyway. Today I want to share with you a few of my winter essentials which are absolutely necessary during the change from October to December.

The first one – of course, is a lovely warm cup of tea. Now, there are lots of different types of tea out there but I like to be very original and have a nice cup of Tetley’s. You can’t really go wrong in all honesty. And make sure you make it properly, the right way in the right order of steps. Tell me how you make your cup of tea in the comments. Let’s see who’s really doing it properly.

The next essential is a little bit odd but when you read ahead you’ll understand why.

I am asthmatic (not majorly, don’t worry I won’t collapse on you), therefore I have to now start getting my flu jab. I also had this done last year as I found out I was asthmatic back then. In previous years I have found myself feeling absolutely rock bottom with colds and flu’s and viruses etc. Therefore having my flu jab done is an absolute necessity.

It may be a little odd for some people, but I promise it makes the cold and flu season much easier so you avoid getting ill.

My next essential is something I’ve not actually managed to get yet, and that is a scarf. I’m hoping to visit Primark within the next few days to go and get myself one. If I can’t find one in Primark I’ll end up in New Look and there is one in there I do quite like. Its navy blue and has white and red and black combined into it, but Primark ones are much more affordable.

After Bonfire Night for me, it means Christmas  is drawing nearer and we can finally start getting excited for it. During the winter months leading up to Christmas, I absolutely love to get fairy lights. I currently have a multicoloured pack in my room waiting to go on my little Christmas tree, and I also have some purple / pink fairy lights trailing around my bed cupboards. I love coming home and making my room feel cosy and warm just so I can block out the cold for a little while and concentrate on warming up.

Those are all my current essentials for Winter and I’ll be sure to do an updated one in about a month or so to see if I have any more (which I definitely will). As I said earlier on in the post, let me know how you make a cup of tea. Which way is the right way to make a cup of tea? We’ll find out! ?

Thank you all very much for reading and if you want to hear of my updated winter essentials in a few weeks – a month, don’t forget to follow my blog and join my little family 🙂

Much love,

Abi x

Self Confidence

Hey everyone,
Long time no blog haha!

As you can tell, I’m going to talk about self confidence because I think it’s so important people embrace their natural look and body shape and figure and all that kind of stuff.

I’ll start with a clear example of myself. When my adult teeth began to come through, they grew so they tilted like a V shape. I never smiled with my teeth because I hated them more than anything. They felt like my biggest flaw because I was bullied about them, I was told I had horse teeth. But after hearing it so much, I decided to sod all these people because their opinions don’t matter to me about my own personal flaws. I’ve learnt to appreciate my smile and use it as much as possible every day to make myself feel better. (And to make sure I don’t look like a bitch if someone smiles at me and I don’t smile back ?)

My second biggest flaw was my weight and my size. For my age, I was unusually skinny in years 7 and 8. My trousers hung off me like parachutes and nothing fitted me. I spent my time trying to figure out how to hide the fact I didn’t have boobs like the rest of the girls in my year, I tried to figure out how I could possibly make myself look a little chunkier but it never happened. To this day I don’t manage to put weight on much because of how much of a picky eater I am. If anyone remembers, there was a site called AskFM where you could anonymously send in questions to people. I joined this site to answer the daily questions only. However, people found my profile and I received messages like “Skinny anorexic cow, go die.” This made me so upset for so long and I was scared to go to school. But after being bullied for so long, I shook it off. People still try to bully me to this day and I laugh it off because I see it as people being pathetic and trying to hurt someone else because they have nothing better to do than bully and pick on others.

What I’m trying to get at is if you’re going through or have been through the same situations I have, remember to look after yourself because as someone once told me – ‘Always look after number one. It is the most important rule to life.’ If you want to talk to me, please don’t hesitate to message me on any form of social media or leave a comment below with your social media username and I’ll be sure to have a conversation with you.

I felt this was an important post to make because so many young adults like myself go through much worse than what I did and they lead themselves to doing things out of the ordinary to themselves.

I appreciate every one of you and you all deserve the absolute bestest things in life and if anyone tries to rain on your parade, shake them off and laugh because you’re the one in the better.

xx – A
