One of Those Days | AbiSays

Hello everyone,

Today has very much been my definition of a typical summer day for me. I have quite literally spent the day moping about the house rather than being out and about, which don’t get me wrong is actually fairly crap but the past few weeks I have been up and out and getting out of the house trying to find places to adventure to and explore.

Recently, I’ve just not had anywhere to go as a whole. I know places I can go but everywhere in these towns or cities or villages I have managed to explore the majority of already.

I spent the last three weeks maybe? going to and from my local city – Chester. With friends I have already there, I have managed to find new places I didn’t know about which was fun at the time; its just now looking back I couldn’t go back to these places and not find anything new or interesting because my friends quite literally show me every nook and cranny in these places.

I’ve also had some of those really chill days moping about in my own house and in other people’s houses which have again, been lovely and sometimes I much prefer these days to those days where you spend the whole entire day walking about and getting your step count up.

Today has been a day of sitting in, messing about with makeup, planning a couple of blog posts and I actually managed to film two videos today, so I’m quite happy. I’ve also been vlogging but because I’ve not been doing anything, there’s nothing for me to actually put together for a vlog, which is defeating the object completely of creating a vlog.

I am very tired though purely because of the fact since breaking up from college, my s,eep pattern has been completely and utterly destroyed. (also the fact my body just can’t stay asleep) I’ve been falling asleep at the most stupid times of the night. Last week I had the full week of not falling asleep until half 3 in the morning and its starting to kinda effect me during the day now. My sleeping is completely and utterly ruined, so if anyone has any ideas of how I can get to sleep at a reasonable time and train my body back into a sleeping pattern, please let me know!

I’m going to go and post this blog and then create the thumbnail, and hopefully get these two videos edited as well as writing another post. Wish me luck!

Until next time,

~Abi <3

Being Away From Blogging… | AbiSays

Hello all,

Been such a long time since I’ve uploaded a post of any sort, and let me tell you I wish i could have kept up to date with you all and kept on uploading posts. Believe me, I’ve kinda missed this little corner of the internet.

So where have I been? Whats been going on since I last uploaded on March 24th?! (Oops) Thats something like 2 and a half months… oh my. Right, so.

Last time, I spoke about my experience with counselling. I have not been back to counselling since leaving and I’m currently in a toss up of going back or not, because of things happening in the next two months regarding my family moving to Australia, which I will talk about in another post soon. However, since leaving counselling I’ve had some good times, and some bad and not a lot has been easy. College is as stressful as ever,  and the year is finally coming to a close and I have like 25 days left until our 2 and a half month (i think) summer.

Since not blogging, my life has pretty much been preoccupied with work, college work and making time for friends and family things. I am now out of  a job again (post coming soon) and basically living off what I was paid and already I have bought a FitBit, a ukulele capo for my sister, a new book, lil bits of food and I ordered myself a dominos earlier tonight too because I can and I decided to treat myself.

Such a small update but I really hope to get back into blogging again. Its currently 47 past 12 at night and I’m re-watching Vania & Jodie’s moving vlogs which are my fave types of vlogs to watch!

Hope to see you back here soon,

With love,

~Abi <3

Books I’ve Read In the Past Few Months | Blogmas Day 23

Hey everyone, welcome back.

This post is so so late!! I’ve been busy all day doing a Secret Santa with my friends and spending time with them all day. I then got my phone camera fixed but I’m finally sat down at 8.30 writing this for you!

Let’s start!

I’m actually genuinely happy with the amount of books I’ve managed to read this month. The first is Girl Online On Tour by Zoe Sugg.

I absolutely loved this book and managed to finish it within three days. I love books which see written in a dairy form, I just find them much more interesting to read. In this book, we meet Penny once again with her rock star boyfriend Noah who, of course goes on tour and takes Penny along with him. I’m still yet to read Going Solo, but I’ve heard it’s amazing and follows Penny and Noah perfectly again.

Book 2

Book number two is Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone by J.K Rowling. I again managed to read this book in the space of 2 – 3 days purely because of the fact it was a brand new book to hit my collection as I had bought a new copy in the Harry Potter World Shop, and I read it on the train back home and loved every chapter as thoroughly as the film. This of course follows Harry Potter in his first year of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as well as his two friends Ron and Hermonie.

Book 3

Lee Evans: The Life of Lee.

As I said about Girl Online, I love books written in a dairy form, or written by the author themselves. In this book you follow the journey of Lee Evans and how he grew up and what his school and home life were like before fame. This book only follows him up to around when he was mid 20s, and this book leaves you on and cliffhanger at the end. (I won’t spoil it)

Book 4

The Night That Changed Everything by Laura Tait and Jimmy Rice.

This book is one of my all time favourites and the story follows the relationship of Rebecca and Ben who are my ultimate goals in all honesty. The book is purely focused on one night which changed absolutely everything between Ben & Rebecca and the whole story is such a roller coaster which I absolutely love! It’s such an interesting read and I’d recommend it to people aged 15 and over!

Again, I’m so sorry this post is so so late. I will upload the featured image tomorrow so the post doesn’t look as boring, and I’ll be back tomorrow with another post.

Till next time,

~Abi♡

My Favourite Foundations | Blogmas Day 9

Hello all welcome back,

Today  I’m going to do a post I said i would do a few days ago, and that is my favourite foundations. At the moment, my phone camera is broken and still needs repairing but I will credit everyone for the pictures.

My first two favourites are from Rimmel.

  1. Rimmel Lasting Finish

This foundation is a personal favourite mainly due to the formulation. I find foundations such as this one really light on the skin and super easy to wear and they don’t leave your skin feeling greasy and oily.

What I like about this foundation is the fact they have such a good range of colours and shades for everyone and I think that is definitely something other brands lack in. Its always good to know you’ll be able to find a perfect match or a close enough match to your skin colour.

I’d say the finish of this foundation is dewy and light and wears good throughout the day and provided you have a primer underneath, this foundation doesn’t crease and leave you with your smile lines creased either because I find that creasing is something that happens for me quite easily.
I would always blend this foundation with my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge because it just gave the perfect base and overall finish to the foundation.

For £7.99 I would definitely recommend this foundation to anyone. Buy the foundation from Superdrug here!

Benefits  (taken from the Superdrug description)

Rimmel’s first sweat, heat, humidity and transfer proof for up to 25 hours.

Enriched with a revitalizing Mineral Complex and Moisturizing Aqua Primer

Skin feels energized, hydrated and lightweight all day

2. My next favourite foundation is the Rimmel Match Perfection. This foundation was raved about on Youtube for so so long and I don’t blame anyone for raving about it. Again, the shade range is incredible and can really offer something for everyone. This foundation has the description of (Taken from the Boots site)

Image result for rimmel match perfection foundation

Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation. Invisible, mistake-proof foundation for visibly perfected & healthier looking skin.

Weightless, smooth texture blends with skins real tone instead of masking it.

24HR moisture complex leaves skin feeling hydrated. Soft-focus powers help reduce imperfections, pores & dark circles. SPF 20 Dermatologist tested.

From this description I would semi agree. After applying this and taking it off at the end of the day, I do find my skin feeling hydrated and it cancels out my problem areas like blemishes from old spot scarring and dark circles. However, I wouldn’t say this foundation feels weightless because sometimes after applying, I can feel it on my skin and I know there’s something there.

Unlike the Rimmel Lasting Finish, this foundation doesn’t really wear as well. I find I have to powder much more with this foundation and apply concealer more than I usually would where I put it over the foundation. For me, thats a problem because I have combination oily skin and so keeping foundations on is a major must for me but other than the little problem with the wear, I really love this foundation. Again, its £7.99 from Superdrug!

My third and final foundation is the Revlon Colour Stay which I always get in the shade 150 Buff. The first time I bought this foundation, I was really impressed straight away. The colour match was perfect and the coverage was medium and definitely buildable.(I forgot to mention the Rimmel Foundations are light to medium coverage)

I got my foundation from my local factory shop where it was retailed for £4 whereas in other places it was £12.99 (Superdrug) and the same in Boots, so finding myself with getting a foundation that had more than 50% off was definitely a pat on the back bargain!

Again I love to blend this in with a primer underneath and a Real Techniques Beauty Sponge because they will always give me the best possible coverage and it applys much nicer. I’m always able to go through the day without feeling guilty that there’s a good coverage foundation on my face and i know it won’t wear off and that is something every girl needs for her foundation. (Or boys, we don’t judge <3) For oily combination skin I would say this is a must even though it is unfortunately on the pricey side

Buy the Revlon Colour Stay here! 😀

And that concludes today’s blog post! I’ll be doing another review on my Barry M Flawless Matte foundation very soon, so keep an eye out for that but other than that let me know what you think of these foundations! Have you tried any of them and what is your favourite?

Until next time,

~Abi <3

The Versatile Blogger Award | Blogmas Days 2 & 3

Welcome back everyone! I apologise for this having to be my post for Blogmas days 2 AND 3 – I honestly had no idea what to write about to interest you guys.

Recently, my lovely fellow blogger friend Rachel posted a blog about the Versatile Blogger Award and nominated me which was so kind of her! Today for Blogmas post 3 (technically 2 and 3) I am going to be doing this little tag! So –

The Rules:

  1. Thank the person that nominated you & include a link to their blog. ☑️
  2. Nominate at least 15 blogs of your choice… If you can. ☑️
  3. Link your nominees and let them know of your nomination.  ☑️
  4. Share 7 facts about yourself.  ☑️

versatile-blogger-award.jpg

So as mentioned Rachel nominated myself and a few other bloggers for this award which again is so lovely of her so thank you so much Rachel! Now I personally won’t be able to come up with 15 different blogs so I’ll give you a few of my favourites –

7 Facts About Me –

  1. I’ve been to London a few times with family and once with friends and also to Disneyland Paris  with my high school for a ‘science’ trip which really wasn’t science related at all!
  2. I’ve been watching The X Factor since 2006 when Leona Lewis won and have watched every year since then. I started watching this year and when it came to the live shows I stopped purely because of Honey G because my family and I think she seriously ruined the show but as of writing this post I’m watching the Christmas Week!
  3. The previous fact leads me on to my next fact and that is I quite happily go all out with Christmas but I’m not a maniac when it comes down to it. I love getting all festive with Costa festive drinks, festive Christmas shows, festive decorations, and fairy lights and putting my little Christmas tree up in my room! (I’ve made it snow on my blog too and that makes me very happy)
  4. In the past few years, I have seen a total of 11 different musicals and two of those being Wicked in London and Manchester. I’m quite obsessed and I’d LOVE to go and see Phantom of the Opera in London with my dad along with Les Miserables!
  5. This next fact is something I’m still shocked about, but my family and I are going to live in Australia next summer for a year or two and I’ve never been more excited to live somewhere because I’ve spent 15 years of my life in the same little town in North Wales and there’s so much more out there and this is such an amazing opportunity for myself and my family!
  6. I have been doing YouTube videos for around 3 years now but since being partnered with StyleHaul 2 years ago, I’ve calmed my videos down due to StyleHaul being such a bad network for me to be partnered to. As soon as I have my braces on and have been unlinked from StyleHaul, I will be back doing videos because its such a creative thing for me to do and links in with my college course too.
  7. And the final most obvious fact I can come up with is that I am having my braces on next week on Tuesday and its safe to say I’m quite nervous because I have feeling I know its going to cause me lots of ache having them tightened!

Thank you all so much for reading!

My Sudden Love for Coffee

Hello friends,

In the past week I have found myself to be a sudden coffee lover. My wonderful college friends can back me up with this because I have never (I repeated never) been a coffee drinker.

I always found the smell  extremely appealing but I never liked the taste because of that odd aftertaste you get. (Just me?)

So this is probably the strangest post you’ll ever read but I’ll give you the story anyway.

So last week we had a new girl called Melissa join our class and she was lovely! Thankfully she’s come over to my ‘half’ of the class to my little friendship group and she’s settled right in.

So last week on her first or second day, we went into the Costa in the college and Mel ordered a Caramel Coffee Cooler. She didn’t like it much so I voluntarily decided to have it. I think because I’m a very frequent tea drinker, the coffee must have been a shock to my system.

If you have ever seen Over the Hedge, you’ll know the hamster on there gets very hyped off energy drinks and goes absolutely mental. This is pretty much a good comparison to how I reacted to the coffee. My legs couldn’t stop shaking and I was getting very giddy.

So.

Conclusion.

Don’t give me cold coffee. It’s currently 4.20pm and  I’m on my third cup of coffee of the day so I probably won’t sleep tonight.. ah well.
Just want to give a quick shoutout to the lovely bunch of people who have recently added me to a lovely facebook group so I can connect with different bloggers and interact with new people.

I said I was going to post this at 6pm but I’m changing my mind and I will post it as soon as I finish writing.

Thankyou all so much for reading and following my blog!

I’ll speak to you next week.

🙂

September Favourites!

Hello everyone! Welcome to the second post in #Blogtober16 (Sorry for Blogtober never really happening)

Today I want to share with you my September Favourites as I have a few. These favourites were definitely more beauty based this month.

My first favourite is the Revlon Colour Stay Foundation. Mine is completely gone now and I’ve had this foundation for at least 6 months and not had to buy anything else. It was the perfect match for my skin and was so incredibly easy to blend. I bought mine for £4 from the Factory Shop and usually it retails for £12.99 so I definitely saved myself some money there!

My next favourites are a combo of each other. The first one is the Maybelline Lash Sensational which has also unfortunately  run out and gone dry. This mascara was raved about so so much this time last year and everyone was using it and still today people love the mascara the same. It’s an incredible dupe for the Benefit Rollerlash too! The wands are almost exactly the same and that is something I absolutely love. This mascara retails for £7.99

The second half of the combo is the Astor Seduction Codes mascara. On top of the Lash Sensational, this adds that extra volume and ‘umph’ to your lashes. This mascara was also bought from my local factory shop for £4 which is the regular price for Astor’s brand. However, it is cheaper in other stores online.

My next favourite is odd but it’s been my cactus! This is so strange but I’ve been loving taking care of my cactus because it feels like a chore I have. It is only small which is good because it means I only have to water it 3 times every month which is like once every week during the winter months. It currently isn’t standing upright which is annoying me a bit but it is sat in the sun right now so I hope the sun can straighten it up a bit!

This past month I have also really been enjoying coming home from college and watching Alfie Deyes’ vlogs. I don’t usually like watching Alfie’s vlogs but this month I’ve loved them.

I have also loved just watching vlogs all together!

Those are all my favourites for this month and I know there aren’t that many but I like keeping favourites posts nice and short because I hate when people go off on a tangent!

Again, I’m doing Blogtober so I’ll be posting everyday! I’ve decided my weekend posts will go up at 10am, and my weekday posts will go up at 6pm as I’m in college all week!

Have a lovely day and I hope to see you again soon!

#DreamCareer | Journalism & Photography

Hello everyone!

Today I wanted to talk to you about my dream career which is journalism.

All throughout my childhood I’ve loved writing stories and mini reports of my day and diary entries which I still love to do today. I get to share my love for writing and journalism online with you guys all throughout my social media platforms which is honestly something just adore!

Journalism I believe is a very quietly spoken about topic in today’s media and news and general topics which disappoints me. Thankfully when I left high school, I was able to find a college in the last two weeks of summer and find a perfect course for me which included journalism.

I’ve recently taken a love for black and white photography thanks to the inspiring tutors I have as well as the incredible documentary photographers I have gotten to know and love the work of. Vivian Maier is my current favourite and her work speaks so loudly and has so much power of influence to me. I have also been loving the work of Sally Mann and Edward Burtynsky.

I want to be able to discuss my views and thoughts through not only words, but pictures too. With a high quality phone camera and a Nikon D3200 I’d like to say I have everything at the tips of my fingers. However, everything takes planning. Naturally as a photographer you take pictures of the world as it is and if you see the perfect opportunity to take a picture you do so immediately which is I think a good thing in photography.

For journalism however, it’s all different and reports take research and careful planning with interviews and all sorts of things.

If you are wanting to write about your dream career, I’d love to read your posts. After you’ve read this blog I’d love for you all to tell me your dream career and then post the link in the comment section. Let’s see what we can make of this.

Till next time,

Abi xo
Ps. I’d love for sittingintheclouds to do this! X

First Week of College | My Experience

So.

Monday 5th September was my first day at college. By college I mean the next level up from high school – not university for all you Americans. I’m studying Creative Media & Journalism at my college and so far – it’s great.

My day didn’t really go to plan at first as I got to my bus stop and the bus didn’t turn up. I was expecting it to be late but it just did not turn up therefore I panicked a bit so thankfully my dad was able to take me.

Walking into the college I was greeted by a handful of lovely people who were in the college. Making my way down to my class, there’s a Costa which I’m so happy about?.

The typical college starters are ice breakers which are what we spent the majority of our time doing over the course of Monday and Tuesday. I hate ice breakers with a passion and I find them incredibly boring and long-winded. I’m only in college for 4 days, 2 of which are short days meaning I finish at 2.15 which is an absolute life saver. I also get Fridays off which I love.

Wednesday and Thursday were when we started really getting into our coursework and making our way through it. We had different assignments to do with photography which I’m okay with because it involves research.

The whole of the first week was more to do with getting to know the people on my course and making new friends. Unfortunately last week wasn’t my best week due to just really not getting on with the people who sat around me. There are 3 people who I really do get on with now and they’re absolutely lovely.

If anyone has any questions about college and getting started, let me know! I want to blog at least 4 times a week so get ready for a post tomorrow.

Bye!!

-Abi xo

I’ve decided to come back as I’m going to be blogging my trip to London from August 1st – 4th. We’re doing a bunch of things and I can’t wait to share my adventure with you all!
