I don’t know about you, but I’m honestly quite nervous about turning 18. A legal adult. There are so many girls my age waiting to turn 18 with their birthdays at the end of the year, yet mine is April 17th. Nice and early on in the year. Turning 18 means I have to take some sort of responsibility in the decisions I take, and the things I learn to do, like houses, and rent, and mortgages and bills, and all the boring stuff you swore to your younger self you’d never ever do.
I’ve decided recently that living in Australia away from my friends who also all turn 18 this year, will be difficult. We’ve spent all of our birthdays together for practically the past 9 years. Its mental to think I’ll be away from them for my 18th birthday.
Back on track to the blog post, here are some thing I want to do when I turn 18.
First thing, is to take driving lessons….again. I began my driving lessons in the UK last year the weekend after I turned 17. You can probably understand they weren’t a thing that lasted because I didn’t even get to move out of first gear.
I think the only real reason I stopped my lessons was purely because of the driving instructor, and I just wasn’t happy. By the time I wanted to start looking for lessons again, it was time to move out here. I just let college and work get in the way and stopped my lessons and haven’t driven since July last year. So when I turn 18, I’d like to learn to drive.
Of course the second thing I’d love to achieve is pass my driving test. Not being able to drive and just relying on my parents and my lovely friend Nona makes me feel so ridiculously guilty. (thank you 3 for driving me around and taking me places)
For some time now, I’ve wanted to start my own photography business, and wanted it to provide a reliable amount of money for me to help my family out every now and then. However, with me also doing online college and the assessments are getting trickier and harder, its pretty hard to focus on a small business. I’d really like to try and get my business on the move when I turn 18, and again, take some responsibility not only for me myself, but for me to save some money and cast some aside for savings.
Some other pretty standard things are I’d like my Instagram , YouTube and Twitter to all reach 1,000 followers, as well as uploading and scheduling videos and tweets frequently. I’d also like to try and get a part time job, because its proving to be quite tricky out here already!
I have other little ambitions I’d like to achieve after I turn 18, but I think I’d like to keep those for another post.
Thank you so much for reading, I’m hoping to be back blogging at least once a week now, after some technical difficulties!!
I have also set up a new Twitter page especially for this blog, click >>here<< to go follow!
