Christmas is possibly the most annoying time for finding presents. You wait all year with all these ideas for Christmas gifts, and it gets to December and my mind goes blank. This year however, I’ve been looking on Pinterest for some inspiration, and its safe to say I’ve found some that have saved me from struggling to buy presents for at least 4 people!
The best thing about these gifts, is that they take practically no time whatsoever and hardly cost you anything! Every DIY will be linked if you want to take a look yourself!
This idea was absolutely calling my name when I saw this one! Things you need are:-
- Jar (Mason jar preferably to fit everything inside)
- 1tsp Baking Powder
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/3 cup cocoa
- 1 1/8 cup of flour
- 3/4 tsp Salt
- 2/3 cup Sugar
After you have measured all your ingredients out, all you need to do is chuck them into your mason jar, (no not literally) and pop the top of the jar back on! I’m going to add a ribbon on mine and tie it into a bow. I wouldn’t do this until a couple days before Christmas because other wise there’s a chance your ingredients may go off and start to go strange because of the other ingredients in the jar.
If you say your family don’t absolutely adore Smores then I don’t know what to say!! Smores have always been a family favourite of ours, and we will make them whenever we go camping, or even as a treat after dinner in the evenings. I saw this little kit and thought it was a brilliant idea.
You will need:
- Plastic box
- Bow tie / ribbon
- Name tag
- Chocolate digestives
For me and my family, we have always used chocolate digestives and marshmallows because it really prevents a lot of mess and it hardly takes any cooking time at all!
If you have never made Smores before, all you need to do is put a marshmallow on a cocktail stick and turn your hob on. Some people also do theirs in the microwave.
When you’ve let the marshmallow heat up in the flames from your hob, let it turn a soft brown roasted colour. You don’t want completely burnt marshmallows! After that, grab one of your chocolate digestives, and hold it in your hand facing up, so the marshmallow can be sandwiched in between the two digestives.
I’m really hoping one of my family members enjoys this little idea.

IDEA 3: A Sweet Suprise!
(Although the original idea was named chill pills)
I saw this and thought this was the perfect idea for kids. Of course this says chill pills but I think you could label it with anything and the kids would love them. I’m thinking of doing one of these for my brother.
Instead of just filling this with sweets and sugary goodness, I thought a fab idea would be to put an empty toilet roll in the middle of the jar, and put a £10 / $10 note inside so not only are the kids getting a sweet surprise, they also get the money in the middle.
I really hope you’ve enjoyed reading this post! Let me know what you’ve found for DIY Christmas presents this year so far. Do you use Pinterest?
