2019 is now well underway, so it’s time to start thinking about how you’re seriously going to achieve your health goals for the year. (same lol) Whether you’ve decided you want to improve your diet or you want to focus on how much water you’re drinking each day – taking the time to set yourself small milestones and actionable steps is one the best possible ways to ensure you meet your goals.
With that in mind, here are 6 ways to improve your health this year:
- Drink At Least 2L Of Water A Day
One of the best ways to ensure you’re living a healthy lifestyle is to ensure you’re drinking at least 2L of water each day. Whilst it may seem like a lot, spread out over the hours that you’re awake it’s a nice easy amount to drink. If you think you’re going to find this difficult may need a little bit of extra help, try purchasing one of those water bottles that has markings on for each hour of the day. They’re a great way to track how much you should have had by a certain time of day. As well as using one of these bottles, have a look for the app ‘My Water’ on the app store. It reminds you every hour to have a drink and you’re able to set a goal for the day. This app really helps motivate me to make sure I’m drinking a good amount daily.
- Stick To A Healthy Diet
Sticking to a healthy diet is one of the harder parts of improving your health. If you’re anything like me you find it hard to stick to a diet, especially when there is lots of temptation around. The best way to look at it is to not consider yourself as on a diet, and instead think of it as a lifestyle choice that encourages you to make better choices. Remember not to deny yourself a treat every now and again, as you’ll find it means you crave it more and more.
- Exercise Every Single Day
Finding the time to exercise every single day is a great way to ensure you’re living a healthy lifestyle. Whether you join the gym, go out for a run or you start your own home gym – you’ll be surprised how much difference it can make to your health. - Ensure You’re Getting Regular Check-Ups
Visiting your doctor may be the last thing on your mind, but it’s important you’re going for regular check-ups. You never know when they may be able to help.
- Practice Self Care
Finally, a great way to improve your health is to spend more time focusing on you. Self-care is a great practice that allows you the time to do whatever makes you happy – whether it’s a hot bath after a long day or curling up with your favourite book. Make sure you’re putting you first.
